eGifter, a service that accepts bitcoin payments for gift cards, has recently added Dunkin’ Donuts, a major coffee and donut chain, allowing customers to effectively pay with bitcoin using eGifter online gift cards.

According to eGifter blog post, although the coffee chain does not accept the digital currency directly, it allows its customers to purchase precise amounts. Additionally, eGifter customers receive a bonus of 3% when paying with bitcoins.

“The card was on our wish list since our first day in business. Many of the eGifter team members start every day with Dunkin coffee, also referred to around here as startup fuel. Those cups in our hands were a constant reminder that we wanted this card, so we are quite excited to finally be able to offer it to our members,” Tyler Roye, CEO of eGifter said.

Many other companies including Gyft and Fold allows customers to purchase gift cards to major chains with bitcoins. According to reports by CCN, mobile bitcoin wallet Airbitz integrated Fold, a gift card app that accepts bitcoin app, in a move to encourage more customers to use bitcoins. Also, one of the world’s largest coffee chain Starbucks, is supported by Gyft online gift card as well as Fold.
